Guest Author Event

Today we have been thrilled to attend a meet-the-author event on Zoom. The author’s name is Aisling Fowler and she told us all about her first book, Fireborn. The book sounds fantastic and the class enjoyed hearing all about the story!

A big thank you to Ms Whiteley for organising this event for us!

Eden Camp!

Another busy week comes to an end in 6TC. It was certainly an eventful one as we went on a school trip to the amazing Eden Camp!

The children had a great time and were very excited for he visit!

We got to find out about many different aspects of World War II which has given us a great hook as we move into the history element of our topic ‘From woodlands to the Blitz.’

Week 3 in 6TC

Wow! What a week we have had in Year 6. I can’t believe that it has only been four days – we have been so busy but here are a few highlights!

In English, we have finished writing our poems inspired by weather patterns and have now moved on to information texts. We will be using our visit to Meanwood Valley as inspiration for this writing unit.

In art we have been studying the work of local artist James Bywood and enjoyed creating art inspired by nature in his style.

We also enjoyed our first library session of the year. Our library day is Friday and we are all looking forward to visiting again next week!

6TC Class Blog!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the class blog for 6TC. You can check this blog for regular updates about what we have been doing in school.

So far we have had a very positive start! The children have been working hard and showing a great attitude on coming back to school. I have really enjoyed my first two weeks as a teacher here at Allerton CE Primary, and I am already looking forward to the rest of the year!
